The Wine Glass Food Experience

The Wine Glass in Hermanus offers a selection of close to 100 wines available to taste, savour and enjoy by the glass, by the bottle or simply in a tasting flight of six.

Wine from our region has never been easier to appreciate. We pride ourselves in representing a wonderful selection of wines from Botriver, Hemel & Aarde, Stanford, Elim and Agulhas.

Scrumptious plates of food are served from our kitchen where our chef has been inspired by local cuisine to take you on a gastronomic journey.

FOOD EXPERIENCE

Chef’s plates

Compose your own culinary experience: order for one (two to three plates equals a main course) or select different dishes for the table and share amongst friends. A few examples of our amazing sharing plates: Vietnamese Garden Spring Rolls; Salt & Pepper Squid; Zucchini & Rosemary Fries and North African prawns. You’ll be spoilt for choice!    

Platters

The Wine Glass Platter is a delicious deli composition of coppa, salami, parma ham, cremona Gorgonzola, stonehouse Cajun spiced and Camembert cheeses, Kleinrivier Colby cheese, chicken liver pate with port jelly, kalamata olives and giant green Spanish olives, and pickled Mediterranean vegetables – served with preserved
fig and crackers.

The chef can recommend wine pairings to accompany the scrumptious tasting plates from the restaurant kitchen. Our food offering focusses on top quality ingredients. Vietnamese Garden Spring Rolls

fresh and crunchy rolls of julienned vegetables and herbs wrapped in rice paper, served with a spicy ginger-ponzu-soy dipping sauce

FOREST MUSHROOM LINGUINI
A medley of forest mushrooms tossed with linguini, black truffle oil and Parmesan shavings

SALSA VERDE PANKO CRUSTED HAKE

Crispy panko crusted hake marinated in a salsa verde, served with a homemade salsa verde aioli and matchstick potato fries

PERLEMOEN ARANCINI

Sustainably sourced, whole baby abalone enclosed in risotto, mozzarella and minced abalone, served with a garlic aioli

AUBERGENE ROLLATINI

PORK BELLY

crispy, slow roasted pork belly on carrot puree, bok choy, gremolata mash & coleslaw, with red wine jus on the side

LINEFISH ORIENTAL

ginger-steamed line fish, soy, hint of chilli, coriander, peanut oil, baby bok choy, served with white rice

FILLET OF BEEF

200g of fillet done to order, sliced, and served full-house TWG-style – including seasonal vegetables, hand-cut potato chips and a creamy green peppercorn sauce
